My Website:

Hi I'm Dan Barber and I race Junior TKM in the Tyne and Wear Kart Club championship at Warden Law. It takes place on the 1st Sunday of every month.

I started karting in 2006. As a birthday present, I went for an induction session at Warden Law in the hire karts. I loved every minute of it. I went back for "arrive and drive" regularly and decided to start the Junior Race Nights in late 2006. I won my first heat, qualified for the A final, and went on to finish one place off the podium. I competed in these race nights for over a year and won two 4-month championships.

I bought a world formula to race in the 2008 season and was quick in my first meeting, setting the fastest lap in the final. I went on to finish 3rd in the championship in my 1st season.

In 2009 I moved up to Junior TKM. The karts are a lot faster and the competition is a lot tougher. I have finished races on the podium this season, and my aim is to win a race soon.

My Latest News

November Race Meeting

Amazingly we had gone almost a whole season without a wet meeting, but it arrived for the last race in November, and it was torrential!

After a few spins in practice, I took it easy in qualifying, lining up 9th on the grid.

I made a good start in heat 1 despite the awful visibility and finished 6th. Heat 2 was a disaster with a spin on the 2nd lap! I overtook a few karts to get back to 9th. Heat 3 went much better and I got back to 5th, while catching 4th place towards the end.

I made an average start in the final and was running in 5th place. Luckily for me, the driver in 4th place spun under braking on the penultimate lap. I kept cool and finished in 4th position.
